Interview: How FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific is ALL IN on the Future

Interview: How FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific is ALL IN on the Future

Quality, innovation, and service have always been the foundation of FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific. To highlight how we are living up to those standards, we’ve decided to launch a new ALL IN campaign. ALL IN will deepen transparency and give partners and customers the chance to see what we’ve done to improve their experience over the last couple of years, and what we have planned to make it even better in the future.

To kick off this new campaign, we interviewed members of the Assisted Reproductive Technology commercial leadership team, including Executive Director Steve Geimer, Director of Marketing Laura Wallace, and Director of Global Sales Matthew McKee. Continue reading below to learn how they see ALL IN inspiring change throughout the organization.

Q: Can you share some changes over the past year that has helped FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific be ALL IN?

Steve Geimer: It’s taken time, but the most important change has been turning the organization into a more fun place to work. To enjoy your work, peer recognition and understanding your role are critical. We’ve restructured Customer Service into Commercial Operations, a new department focused on building a zero-error environment and connecting commercial needs with our manufacturing to ensure a steady supply chain. We’ve also rolled out new programs, such as Motivosity, to let employees praise and recognize the outstanding effort of their peers to the rest of the company. This will ultimately lead to better service, supply, and partnerships with our customers.

Laura Wallace: Marketing’s most important role is voice of customer—from new product development to creating messages that resonate with customers. I’m also excited for our commercial partnership with Presagen to sell Life Whisperer, and our licensing partnership with Partners Healthcare regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI). Artificial Intelligence is a wave for the future, and we believe we can help lead the way in bringing AI to life in IVF. This past year was also our most prolific year for new studies featuring FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific media products, with over ten studies completing and working towards publication or conference presentation.

Matthew McKee: This past year has seen significant changes, all intended to drive output and a positive customer experience. As the face of the customer, the Global Sales team has been instrumental in providing feedback that has helped drive internal programs. We have also been positioning ourselves with new product launches as the market has changed, such as Life Whisperer, while maintaining an increased focus on our core media products that have already changed so many lives. Our goal is, and has always been, to provide the highest quality products that make a positive impact, and our sales team works daily with that in mind.

Q: What does ALL IN mean to you?

Steve: Simply put, ALL IN means zero frustrations. I want to make it easier for our customers to do business with us—easier for our sales, marketing, and customer service teams to meet and exceed expectations. The way to achieve zero frustrations is open communication and a mentality of how and not but.

Laura: ALL IN is creating and cultivating a customer-centric environment internally to support our customers globally. Everything we do, we do for our customers! ALL IN means being truly dedicated to advancing our field through innovation, quality products, and unsurpassed service, ensuring that our organization is customer-minded and creating the best experience possible for clinics around the world.

Matt: ALL IN is working together to drive patient outcomes and changing lives. That starts with supporting our teams to work toward providing the highest quality products and making sure they are readily available.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working for FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific and the ART industry as a whole?

Steve: Within FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, I’ve enjoyed building a culture and environment focused on development and growth, and knowing that what we’re building at Fujifilm has the end goal of enabling clinics to better serve patients is truly inspiring and motivational.

Laura: I have been with Irvine Scientific for sixteen years because I truly love working for a company that is dedicated to innovation and bringing new products to market. We have many “firsts” that I have been able to be a part of in my time here. I also really enjoy my team; I have a great Product Management and Marketing team that shows up every day ready to engage with our colleagues and support our customers' experience with our products and services. It has been a truly rewarding experience working for this organization.

Matt: I love the opportunity to collaborate on and build programs that make a difference in this amazing industry. I have been in the ART industry for twenty-one years and went through the process myself. FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific has always been a market leader in ART, and I cherish the opportunity to develop programs that align us with the current market, and where it is going in the future.
