Leading Industry Experts Address Cell and Gene Therapy Raw Materials Supply Chain Needs

Recently Marlin Frechette, FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific's Sr. Director of Quality Systems/Regulatory Affairs/Compliance Officer & ISO Management Representative, was invited to participate in a roundtable with BioInsights to discuss the critical needs and challenges for the cell and gene therapy raw materials supply chain.

Joined by fellow experts from within the cell and gene therapy industry, Frechette discussed a wide range of topics including the keys to the successful implementation of a risk-based approach to raw material selection and qualification. The discussion also touched upon what the group felt were their organization’s chief needs and considerations for the raw materials supply chain during upstream process development.

As the roundtable concluded, participants highlighted the importance of maintaining open and clear communication with customers and suppliers during every stage of development through to commercialization. Providing clarity in areas such as definitions and analytical testing can streamline processes and avoid unnecessary confusion.
