Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM) is a modification of Basal Medium Eagle (BME) that contains a 4-fold higher concentration of amino acids and vitamins, as well as additional supplementary components.


Ham’s F-10 and F-12 media are standard for cell culture. Originally developed for use in cloning Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) and lung cells, these media are useful with serum supplements for a variety of cell culture applications, including the growth of myeloma and hybridoma cells.


McCoy’s Medium 5A is for primary and established cell lines. It contains increased glucose, additional vitamins, high phosphate, and peptone. Click’s Medium is a modification of Eagle’s Essential Medium with Hanks’ Salts (HMEM) and contains higher concentrations of essential amino acids, in addition to non-essential amino acids, sodium pyruvate, and nucleic acid precursors.


Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) was developed by Harry Eagle and is one of the most widely used of all synthetic cell culture media. It is designed for a wide range of species and cells. Alpha MEM is a modified Eagle’s MEM designed for growth of a mouse-hamster-hybridoma cell line.


Hanks’ Balanced Salt Solutions (HBSS) is used in cell culture to maintain the pH and osmotic balance, as well as provide cells with water and essential inorganic ions.


PBS provides a buffer system to maintain cell culture media in the physiological pH range or to irrigate, transport, or dilute fluid while maintaining cell tonicity and viability.


Potassium Chloride Solution is used as a buffer to help attain a desired pH level.


Gentamicin Sulfate Solution is an antibiotic that inhibits the growth of a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative micro-organisms.


Trypsin Solution is an enzyme preparation, used to remove cells from the culture vessel surface into suspension. Trypsin-EDTA is a combined reagent used to release adherent cells from the culture vessel surface into suspension. EDTA (Versene) Solution is a chelating agent used to lift some cell types from the culture vessel surface into suspension.

Produced from an advanced, state-of-the-art Water for Injection (WFI) system, FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific’s WFI Quality Water is the most suitable water available for producing cell culture media, the reconstitution of biochemical reagents, and as final rinse water for critical applications. WFI Quality Water meets and exceeds both USP and EP specifications.
