Sr. Scientist I – Innovation

Job Function:

We are hiring for a Senior Scientist I, this individual will be motivated to join the Innovation Group in R&D to bring in new capabilities to the company and to support commercialization in adjacent spaces.


  • Lead the cell-based technologies team within Innovation Group. Supervise, mentor, and effectively manage junior scientists towards project goals.
  • Maintain and foster strong collaborations between R&D groups and external collaborators
  • Plan, execute, and analyze experimentation for programs in cell-based technologies, including media development for discovery research and cell line development.
  • Prepare formal reports and presentations for meetings.
  • Learn and advance expertise in areas relevant to the company’s strategic goals.


  • BS. with >10 years, M.S. with >8 years, or Ph.D. with > 2 years relevant working experience in Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or related field is required.
  • Experience culturing stem cells and mammalian cell lines is required. Expansion and differentiation of iPSCs, particularly into neuronal and cardiac cell types, is highly desired.
  • Experience with 3D-cultures, co-cultures, and organoids desired. Demonstrated capability with molecular biology, flow cytometry, and microscopy.
  • Experience working with a variety of extracellular matrices, biomaterials, and 3D scaffolds or other novel cell culture environments is desired.
  • Prior management and supervising experience are preferred.
  • Strong interest and ability to collaborate with colleagues is critical.
