We are hiring for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist – R&D. Strategic Sourcing Specialist – R&D Responsible for management and execution of Procurement Strategic Sourcing activities for Fujifilm Irvine Scientific, (IS) R&D team, to include but not limited to spend management, supplier compliance, supplier contracts, supplier RFI/RFP/RFQ, supplier prospect analysis, qualification and selection, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), risk management, and process optimization. Projects. The position is responsible for executing sourcing activities for assigned categories with the goal of establishing required documentation and programs to improve Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), raw material cost, quality, delivery and reduce risk in the supply chain.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement global sourcing strategies for assigned categories, to include market analysis, supply chain risk assessment, and supplier selection.
Identify and qualify potential suppliers, monitor, evaluate and communicate performance, develop and manage long-term supplier relationships that enhance FISI’s capabilities resulting in a more agile supply chain.
Negotiate and implement supply agreements, by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on optimal contract terms and conditions for FISI.
Lead sourcing activities for assigned categories including RFI and RFP activities.
Work closely with external suppliers and internal cross functional teams to proactively identify opportunities for implementation of cost savings, lead time reduction, quality enhancement, and overall improved service levels.
Review industry leading commodity cost indicators and publications to drive competitive costing and mitigate cost associated risk
Implement direct material sourcing initiatives that result in the use of the highest value suppliers while optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) within addressable spend.
Conduct supplier spend analysis and sourcing categorization.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve on existing Supplier Scorecard Process.
Organize and participate in supplier business reviews (QBR).
Manage supplier and material master data information in ERP/MRP system.
Partner with internal stakeholders from Commercial Sales, Marketing, Planning and Engineering, to streamline supplier communication.
Identify and execute process improvement projects that increase operating efficiencies.
Manage supplier relationships while gaining an understanding of their business strategy, production schedules, risk mitigation measures, transportation, logistics, inventory control and other relevant capabilities.
Manage communications with suppliers regarding FISI compliance requirements and adherence to business and regulatory guidelines.
Full knowledge and application of the principles and theories of procurement and supply chain
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong oral and written communications skills, confident negotiator, strong multitasking and organizational skills.
Other duties as assigned by management.
BS/BA in business or equivalent; CPM, CPIM and/or APICS certification is desirable.
3 to 5 years of sourcing experience preferred in a cGMP and FDA regulated environment
2 to 4 years of sourcing experience preferred in the Bio-Technology space.
Experience using MRP and ERP systems.
Proficient in Excel, Word, Projects, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Full understanding of sourcing and purchasing industry policies and procedures.
