Powder Technician

Job Function:

We are hiring a Powder Technician. The Powder Technician will be responsible for weighing and filling of powder containers, labeling, case packaging, label accountability and quarantine of powder finished goods in accordance with lot folder instructions.

Job Duties:

  • Perform inspection of raw materials and packaging supplies for the lot; only stage the quantity of each item as per the product BOM
  • Set up scales, calibrate and document weighing equipment
  • Perform and document line clearance at the start of each packaging event
  • Perform and document label verification prior to each labeling event; complete and document label reconciliation post packaging
  • Assemble buckets, boxes, bottles for packaging
  • Review weigh tapes for correct weight of each package and QC sample
  • Weigh every container following lot folder and pertinent SOPs
  • Fill out all documentation in real-time, accurately and legibly
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area and perform necessary housekeeping duties
  • Assure that correct number of samples at the correct weight are collected and logged into QC
  • Assure packaged product is palletized, identified, and shrink wrapped per SOP and stored in the proper storage location
  • Assure that all logbooks are maintained and that all required documentation is properly filled out in a timely manner
  • Review the schedule ahead of time and perform timely staging of required materials
  • Suggest changes in departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Perform other duties as requested by Lead or Supervisor


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good work history
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Metric System
  • Ability to understand current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hands to handle, feel and reach, climb or balance, talk and hear
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception
