Orexin A ELISA Kit Wako
for Immunochemistry
This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human.
Orexin is considered to have a function in regulating wakefulness and sleep because orexin A was decreased remarkably in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with narcolepsy, a sleep disorder. This product is an ELISA kit for simple measurement of orexin A in human cerebrospinal fluid as well as rat cerebrospinal fluid, serum and plasma. The kit does not cross-react with orexin B.

Features
Given that the level of orexin A in the cerebrospinal fluid is significantly decreased in patients with narcolepsy, a type of sleep disorder, orexin A is thought to play an important role in controlling sleep functions. The level of orexin A has been measured conventionally using radioimmunoassay. However, due to the need for radioisotopes (RI), the measurements could only be performed at dedicated institutions with proper equipment.
This product is an ELISA kit that enables simple measurements of orexin A from human cerebrospinal fluid, as well as rat cerebrospinal fluid, serum, and plasma without the need for radioisotope.
- No need for RIs
- High sensitivity (4.69-300 pg/mL)
- Only a small amount of samples is needed (25 μL)
