HR Business Partner

Job Description:

We are hiring a HR Business Partner. The HR Business Partner supports Human Resources initiatives, both tactical and strategic, that address the business needs of FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific. This role is responsible to create trusted relationships at all levels of the organization and play a key role in driving several HR programs and processes. Areas of primary focus include performance management, employee development and coaching, employee engagement, employee communications and talent management including onboarding and mentoring. The HR Business Partner must also possess knowledge and expertise in the areas of compensation, job analysis, HRIS systems and policy guidance.


  • Assist in driving HR initiatives that foster a high-performance culture of accountability and results-orientation linking organizational and employee performance to top level goals
  • Build strong partnerships with employees at all levels to foster trust and accountability throughout the organization while providing the highest level of customer service
  • Assist in facilitating performance management tools and processes including goal setting, coaching, feedback and employee development; facilitate performance management training
  • Identify training and development needs for business units and individual employees
  • Drive cross-functional employee engagement initiative; create and conduct employee surveys and focus group sessions; identify employee concerns and partner with leadership and employees to develop and implement action plans
  • Partner with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and analyze staffing strategy; coach to optimize talent engagement by supporting and facilitating effective onboarding practices
  • Support HR process improvement initiatives through research and application of industry best practices to ensure the highest standards of service
  • Review market compensation surveys to understand the market range of pay for a job and perform benchmark job matching across multiple survey sources
  • Provide administration and application support for the Performance and Learning Management System (Cornerstone) including creation of tasks, user groups, email configuration and reporting; launch online learning as needed and renew training certification
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and integration of advanced ATS features to improve user experience and new hire and onboarding processes
  • Understand, maintain and perform work according to quality, health, safety and environmental standards
  • Support the Human Resources staff with HR projects as required and perform other duties assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, in human resources, business administration or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience as an HRBP, life sciences manufacturing, or sales client groups preferred
  • Ability to maintain and safeguard confidential information and provide a positive image for the company in all situations (internally and externally)
  • Experience across all functional areas associated with this role including, performance management, employee development, onboarding, engagement and talent acquisition
  • Solid understanding and user knowledge of HRIS and ATS systems
  • Up to date knowledge of current federal/state regulations related to employment, CA employment law preferred
  • Experience creating and facilitating performance management processes including goal setting, coaching and feedback
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive
