Customer Qualifications Have Begun
FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific has completed the construction and qualification of its new facility in Tilburg, Netherlands. We are now ready to qualify your powder cell culture media products, and liquid media qualification will begin soon. In our newest facility, we are using the same best-in-class manufacturing processes as we do at our facilities in California and Japan, providing responsive local customer service excellence and collaborative partnerships to support your success and improve your time-to-market.
- Centrally located European manufacturing and distribution center in Tilburg, Netherlands
- 22,800 square meters with the option to expand and double the capacity
- Production capacity of 320,000 kg/year powder and 470,000 L/year liquids in the first phase
- Water For Injection (WFI) Quality Water manufactured onsite and continuously monitored to ensure quality and safety, and a well water source for the security of supply
- Regional supply saves time and shipping costs, while helping to meet sustainability goals
Focused on sustainability
Fujifilm is recognized by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) as a Climate A-List company for addressing environmental risks and building a future sustainable economy that works for both people and planet. The new FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific facility in Tilburg is a part of Fujifilm Manufacturing Europe BV, and prioritizes specific strategies that adhere to the Fujifilm Sustainability Value Plan 2030 for sustainable growth. The strategies address climate change and energy issues, as well as promote recycling of resources. These include:
- Working towards becoming a CO2-neutral facility
- Reducing the amount of water used during manufacturing
- Using wind energy to generate electricity for the manufacturing process
- Developing and utilizing sustainable technologies and products, such as a membrane bioreactor for wastewater purification
