Equipment Maintenance Technician

Job Function:

We are hiring two Equipment Maintenance Technicians for our 3rd shift. The Equipment Maintenance Technicians perform general equipment repairs and maintenance on our production, packaging, quality and research and development (R&D) equipment to ensure the site meets cGMP and OSHA compliance.  This role also serves as the on-site contact person for contractors.  The Equipment Maintenance Technicians are expected to work second shift, third shift, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as necessary and as assigned. The Equipment Maintenance Technicians will also be expected to respond to emergency production and packaging equipment troubleshooting needs.

Job Duties:

  • Document production equipment maintenance and repairs records in Computerized Maintenance System (CMS)
  • Install/maintain/repair/tune/troubleshoot production and packaging equipment per planned schedule and work request
  • Evaluate equipment to identify and correct reasons for malfunctions
  • Repair production and packaging equipment
  • Request new supplies and equipment as needed
  • Construct or fabricate parts from drawings or written instructions
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors as required
  • Move equipment to meet operational needs
  • Respond to production, packaging, quality and research & development (R&D) equipment emergency needs
  • Drive company vehicle when necessary
  • Manage spare parts

Experience/Education:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent; trade school and/or formal training on equipment mechanics strongly preferred
  • 5+ years’ work experiences in general facility production and packaging equipment maintenance and repair
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance System (CMS)
  • Proficiency with Windows applications including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical or mechanical diagrams and equipment manuals
  • Ability to work independently with no supervision
  • Equipment PLC experiences is a plus
  • Experience of working in GMP environment; previous experience in Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices and Biotechnology industries are a plus
  • Must be willing to work in Second and Third shifts per assignment
  • Valid CA Driver License and good driving record required
  • Understand mechanical and electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of cGMP and ISO 9001/EN46001
