Cellnest Recombinant Peptide
Cellnest recombinant peptide is a chemically defined, animal component-free matrix polypeptide substrate based on human collagen type I, delivering optimal, reproducible cell adhesion and proliferation results with a well-defined composition, enriched with RGD sequences. Cellnest is validated for use with human MSCs (hMSCs) derived from different tissue sources and is an ideal substrate for hMSC expansion in PRIME-XV MSC Expansion XSFM.
- Enriched with RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp) motif to enhance cell binding
- Supports optimal, reliable cell expansion of human AD-MSCs, UC-MSCs, and BM-MSCs (Figure 1)
- Maintains cellular morphology (Figure 2)
- Preserves marker expression over multiple passages
- Maintains tri-lineage differentiation potential of hMSCs into adipocytes, chondrocytes, and osteocytes
Visible Cell Density of Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Attachment Substrates

Figure 1. Viable Cell Density (VCD) of adipose- (AD), bone marrow- (BM), and umbilical cord- (UC) derived human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) cultured in PRIME-XV MSC Expansion XSFM on tissue culture plastic coated with nothing, PRIME-XV Human Fibronectin, or Cellnest. VCD shown was gathered at harvest after 3 passages.
Mesenchymal Stem Cell Morphology

Figure 2. Morphology of human umbilical cord-derived MSCs cultured in PRIME-XV MSC Expansion XSFM on tissue culture plastic with no coating, PRIME-XV Human Fibronectin coating, or Cellnest coating. Morphology was observed after the third passage. Images were taken at 10X magnification. MSC morphology on Cellnest-coated plates is comparable to those attached to fibronectin.
