Powder Packaging Tech

Job Description:

 We are hiring a Powder Packaging Technician. The Powder Packaging Technician is responsible for weighing and filling of powder containers, labeling, case packaging, label accountability and quarantine of powder finished goods.

Shift Schedule (5:00 AM - 1:30 PM)

Responsibilities:

  • Performs inspection of packaging supplies for the batch; only stages the quantity of each item as per the product BOM 
  • Set up scales, performs process scale checks and documents weighing equipment
  • Performs and documents line clearance at the start of each packaging event
  • Performs and documents label verification prior to each labeling event; completes and documents label reconciliation post packaging
  • Assembles buckets, boxes, bottles for packaging
  • Use Mettler-Toledo IND780 terminal system in conjunction with the SAP ERP system to weigh each packaging container following SOPs
  • Reviews QC sampling plan prior to starting packaging operation
  • Scoops powder (~4lbs, able to fully articulate arms, wrists, shoulders, etc), frequently filling up drums of materials (approx 280 scoops per lot per shift)
  • Fills out all documentation real-time, accurately and legibly
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area and performs necessary housekeeping duties
  • Assures that correct number of samples at the correct weight are collected and logged into QC
  • Assures packaged product is palletized; identified and shrink wrapped per SOP and stored in the proper storage location
  • Assures that all logbooks are maintained and that all required documentation is properly filled out in a timely manner
  • Reviews the schedule ahead of time and performs timely staging of required materials
  • Suggests changes in departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Performs other duties as requested by Lead or Supervisor

Required Skills/Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Good work history
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Metric System
  • Ability to understand current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
