Job Description:

We are hiring a Shipping Logistics Manager whose duties encompasses a broad range of activities required to ensure customers receive highest quality service through shipping accuracy, completeness, timeliness of shipments, and acceptable condition upon receipt. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules, deadlines, and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Analyzes performance of existing systems and processes, evaluating and recommending improvements to methods and/or cost reductions.


  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends
  • Demonstrates critical decision- making skills and good judgment in all areas of control
  • Manages subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements, and budget responsibilities
  • Manages all functions of finished goods logistics, maintaining compliance with required regulations
  • Evaluates freight or inventory costs associated with transit times to ensure that costs are appropriate
  • Schedules and monitors pickup, delivery, and distribution of products and materials
  • Ensures that documented Customer Requirements for picking, packing, and shipping are met
  • Assesses order and shipping status and provides communication to other departments as required
  • Ensures tracking and tracing of shipments to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary
  • Ensures that excellent support is provided to internal departments and customers, including complaint investigation and resolution
  • Monitors departmental performance and implements procedures within his/her responsibility for excellent service, better efficiency, cost reduction, and improved company reputation
  • Reports routinely against objectives and established KPIs
  • Responsible for departmental compliance with SOPs, DTIs, and Training Materials. Recommends changes and improvements to policies and procedures, as well as developing and maintaining Training Materials
  • Analyzes and interprets current business practices to execute viable recommendations and resolutions for improvement. Such recommendations and plans need to be communicated clearly to organization for execution support
  • Manages the completion, organization, and maintenance of all transactions, paperwork, reports, records, and documentation to meet compliance standards and business requirements
  • Monitors the cycle count process that is managed by the Shipping Supervisor so accuracy levels are above 95% on a consistent basis and identifies root cause for any discrepancies
  • Supports accurate stock levels of finished goods to meet production schedules, forecasts and customer delivery requirements
  • Participates in interviewing, selecting, and training warehouse staff and supervisory personnel
  • Mentors and develops departmental personnel. Prepares staff for increased responsibility


  • 6+ years of related experience, including experience managing direct and indirect reports
  • Experience in life science, biopharma, or related industry is preferred
  • Experience supporting operations in a multi-site, multinational manufacturing environment is desired
  • Direct experience and strong knowledge of operational procedures regarding distribution logistics, such as air and ocean shipping, cross docking, freight forwarders, LSPs/3PLs, etc.
  • Knowledge of supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions / alternatives
  • Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, regulations, and documentation
  • Knowledge of cold chain packaging and logistics
  • Experience with pharma and/or medical device shipping and export highly desired
  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements, with emphasis on finished goods inventory control and transportation
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong leadership, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Experience with Email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using ERP, CRM, and similar enterprise business systems
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
