Recycling

Irvine Scientific is concerned with the environmental impact of our packaging materials. Effective re-use and recycling of these components depends on you. Please use the following guidelines to help us protect our environment:

Packaging Material Re-use Recycle
Glass-Type 1 Borosilicate Autoclave or expose to dry heat (121C for 15 min. 15 psi.). Not currently recyclable
Plastic-PETG Disinfect with bleach or quaternary ammonium base then rinse 3X with DI water Disinfected bottles can be recycled with consumer PETE (soda bottles)
Incineration (results in CO2 + H2O)
Plastic-HDPE Disinfect as above Disinfected bottles can be recycled with consumer HDPE
Bubble wrap-PE Packaging Material Local Recycling Center
Polystyrene Foam (EPS)
CFC Free
Deliver to commercial packaging outlets (i.e. Mail Boxes Etc.) for reuse. Recycle EPS
Recycling Hotline 800/944-8448 for the nearest collection site

Abbreviations
PETG is PolyEthyleneTerephthalate Copolyester, Glycol modified
PETE is PolyEthyleneTerephthalate (Consumer Grade)
HDPE is High Density PolyEthylene
PTFE is PolyTetraFluoroEthylene (a.k.a. Teflon)
