Territory Manager, Northeast

Job Function:
We are hiring for a Territory Manager for the Northeast (Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto, etc). This position's primary function is the direct sales of the company's Cell Culture Products to our industrial clients. The Territory Manager is responsible for generating sales and achieving forecast, developing new accounts, managing existing customers, and developing promotional activities to achieve profitable growth in the assigned territory.


Job Duties:

  • Create and execute a territory plan to meet and exceed the sales objectives for the assigned accounts
  • Direct field contact with customers to develop, maintain, and expand existing business in the territory
  • Follow up on customer requests for additional information, quotes, or sample reserves
  • Perform cold calls to generate and qualify sales leads for increasing the territory funnel of potential new business
  • Qualify, develop, and close prospect according to strategic and territory plan
  • Forecast business accurately to the company as required
  • Give feedback to inside personnel on changes in the marketplace and competitive information
  • Develop promotional ideas and activities in a given territory to assure profitable growth
  • Generate ideas for new products based on customer input and suggestions
  • Complete call reports and any additional paperwork required in a timely fashion
  • Work within the expense guidelines
  • Assist with training of new sales personnel
  • Advise on optimal shipping methods
  • Attend tradeshows and participate in marketing efforts



  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. in a Life Science) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate to high level of sales and marketing techniques in a technical environment
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must be very fluent in the English language to contact prospective customers, explain features of product and make recommendations based on prospect's circumstances
  • Must be physically capable of rigorous, extensive air and automotive travel and spending considerable amounts of time away from home
  • Overnight travel as needed to achieve the business objectives
  • Must be able to speak and hear, use a computer and telephone, and drive a motor vehicle
