Supply Chain Technical Specialist

Job Function:
We are hiring a Supply Chain Technical Specialist. The Technical Specialist ensures that recipes, processes, and procedures are reviewed and processed assuring quality of products and compliance in accordance with GMP and ISO13485. The Technical Specialist also monitors technical elements of manufacturing documents.

The person in this role will review:

  • All processes and procedures which impact manufacturing or are regulated by GMPs
  • All formulations and routers required to support operations
  • All technical input for in-process formulations
  • All essential business data management


Job Duties:

  • Coordinate system inputs for processing routers and formulations
  • Assign part numbers for raw materials and finished goods, and create Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Initiate, update, edit, and approve Document Change Requests
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor master data within ERP related to raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in the system
  • Review formulation history records and finished product specifications for trends, and initiate appropriate process modifications
  • Act as the primary contact for Sales and Marketing on new custom formulations
  • Support new product development and transfer between R&D and manufacturing
  • Maintain and revise department SOPs and DTIs where applicable
  • Participate in process improvement and system projects based on supply chain team priorities
  • Support and generate business data reports for planning, spend, and analytical data that are related to raw materials and finished goods
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the line manager



  • B.S. or B.A. in Biology, Chemistry, Business, or Engineering preferred
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in generating data driven reports that show analytical results based on requirements
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented
  • Experience writing and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Excellent Excel and Power Point software skills
  • Ability to communicate across cross-functional teams among various business functions
  • Knowledge of GMPs, USP, and ISO 9001/EN13485 preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP systems preferred
  • Knowledge of liquid media formulation, aseptic dispensing, and clean room practices preferred
