Research Associate III - Innovation

Job Function:
We are hiring for a Research Associate III to join our Innovation team. The Research Associate III conducts research under the direction of a senior scientist supervisor with the goal of bringing new capabilities and innovation to the Research and Development Department. The primary aim of this position is to develop and coordinate a variety of high throughput experiments.


Job Duties:

  • Carry out projects that involve developing new bioprocessing and media development capabilities for various cell types in R&D
  • Establish and integrate methods using liquid handling robotics and other equipment
  • Streamline workflows in a cross-functional Research and Development group
  • Perform assorted biological/biochemical assays such as cell counting and antibody quantification
  • Exercises judgment within generally defined procedures and SOPs and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Independently design experiments and analyze data to generate data to meet deadlines
  • Prepare formal reports and presentations for group meetings
  • Actively participate in group/project meetings
  • Ability to be a team player and collaboration with colleagues is critical
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop new capabilities and products



  • B.S. in Bioengineering, Biological Science or equivalent with a minimum 8 years relevant working experience


  • M.S. in Bioengineering, Biological Science or equivalent with minimum 6 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience with operating and programming liquid handling robotics platforms is required
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics and DoE is required
  • Experience handling multiple types of mammalian cell lines in both adherent and suspension cultures
  • General life science lab safety knowledge
  • Ability to use professional concepts, company policies, and procedures to perform a wide range of assigned work and solve complex problems
  • Ability to demonstrate potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and collaboration with others
  • Advanced knowledge of Cell Culture, Cell Biology, Bioprocessing, and Molecular Biology
  • Knowledge of commonly used experimental/research concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proficient in written and oral communication skills, including planning and delivering presentations
  • General knowledge of computer systems and productivity software
  • General knowledge of GMP and GLP procedures
